Young adult gathering with Bishop Kevin
Bishop Kevin invites all young adults (over 18) to a 5km walk and celebration of the Eucharist at Sliabh Ban Mass Rock, just outside Strokestown on Sat 30 March. Mass of Chrism
Bishop Kevin invites you to attend the Mass of Chrism on Wednesday 17th April at 7.30pm in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo. During the Mass, Bishop Kevin will bless and consecrate the oils used in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and the Sick. The priests of the diocese will renew their commitment to their priestly ministry. Refreshments afterwards in the Gillooly Hall.
The Elphin diocese’s fourth annual three-day pilgrimage to Lough Derg will take place from Friday June 21st to Sunday June 23rd 2019.
As well as praying for our personal intentions we will invoke God’s blessing on our parishes and diocese.

Camino de Santiago: Young Adult Pilgrimage with Bishop Kevin
23rd – 30th June 2019. 18 – 35 age group. Cost €650. Includes flights, accomodation, 20kg Check-in luggage plus hand luggage, transfers and insurance. Walking Details: A minimum of 100km walk is required to obtain the “Compostela“, the official accreditation of the pilgrimage of St. James. This year we will walk the Celtic Camino, which includes an Irish and Spanish Component. In Spain we will walk the Camino Ingles with our starting point at A Coruna, in the north west coast of Spain, finishing in Santiago de Compostela. This distance is 75km in total and we will walk it over 5 days, approximately 15km per day. In Ireland during the month of May/June we will walk St. Kevin’s way which will make up the additional 25km which is necessary to achieve the Compostela. Walk in Prayer from Darkens to Light
A Camino from St Anne’s Church to the Holy Well will take place on Sunday 28th July beginning at 4.45am to arrive at the Holy Well for 6.00am Mass. This walk recalls our ancestors in Penal Ireland who walked to the Holy Well in fear of their lives to honour the Mass and celebrate the various Sacraments. Everyone can join in this walk and recall this sacred and precious part of our history out of respect for our ancestors.
Traffic at the Holy Well for Garland Weekend
Please remember that a one-way system of traffic will operate at the Holy Well for the Garland Weekend. Please follow the direction of the Gardaí and Parish Stewarts who will be on duty. This system will help with the organisation of traffic flow and parking. It will also help with the smooth departure of traffic after Mass.
