As part of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2017, Dean Arfon Williams invites all to an Ecumenical Worship Service tomorrow, Wednesday 25th January at 8pm in St John’s Church of Ireland Cathedral, John Street, Sligo.
This year Pastor Stefan Arras of the Lutheran Church in Ireland will preach the Sermon.
Mass to mark the opening of Catholic Schools Week 2017 will take place on Sunday 29th January at 12 noon in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo. All are welcome.

Tuesday, 21st March arriving at 6 p.m. for public veneration and confessions at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Athlone. Holy Mass commences at 7 p.m. Consecration of the Homes and Families to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Sacred Heart of Jesus and enrolment in the brown scapular will take place at the end of Mass for those who wish to do so. This will be followed by Holy Hour.

St Patrick’s Church, Castlerea

All are invited to attend the Mass of Chrism in Sligo Cathedral on Wednesday 12th April at 7.30pm. During the Mass, Bishop Kevin will bless the oils used in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Orders and the Sick. The priests of the diocese will renew their commitment to the priestly ministry. All are welcome and refreshments will be served afterwards in the Gillooly Hall.
Camino de Santiago: Young Adult Pilgrimage with Bishop Kevin Doran.
20th – 28th June 2017. 18 – 35 age group. Cost €650. Includes flights, accomodation, 20kg Check-in luggage plus hand luggage, transfers and insurance. Places Limited. Walk from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela, total distance 120Km, approximately 20Km per day. Three preparation walks: Saturday 4th Februray, Saturday 4th March and Saturday 27th May. To secure place, applicants, must: pay €100 Non-Refundable Deposit; provide signed letter from Doctor indicating appropriate fitness/health to walk 120Km in 6 days; complete application form and agree to particpate in a least two of the preparation walks.
